Took my family to the Toledo Museum of Art this weekend. What a fun (and cheap!) way to spend a Saturday! The Mazza Museum, largest museum of artwork by children’s book illustrators, currently has an exhibit in gallery 18 at the art museum. *You can check the Mazza Museum out at http://www.mazzamuseum.org They have original artworks on the wall and the books that they come from are in the middle of the room. Kids can read the books or create a storyboard themselves.
The Toledo Museum of Art has such an impressive collection of artwork! I kept finding artwork that goes along with projects we are working on including this Australian Aboriginal painting…
I was also inspired by the paper sculptures by artist Werner Pfeiffer who is currently on exhibit there.
Check out the art museum’s list of events or go in just for a look around, and get inspired! http://www.toledomuseum.org
