Here are a couple of 5th graders stuffing their soft sculpture moons!
The 5th graders have been learning how to hand stitch fabric to make their very own moon plushies better known as soft sculptures.
The 5th graders are learning to see in the art room! They will be making their very own plush moon inspired by the celestial paintings of Laurel Burch. A template was made from cardstock, then they traced it and cut out a piece of fabric and a piece of felt. Day 1 of sewing included putting together the fronts of the fabric and seeing the edges together with a running stitch. Stay tuned for more details!
The students of Hill View are studying the art of Laurel Burch. Burch’s art is full of color and pattern which has really grabbed students’ attention! Although she is most known for her cats, grades K-2 will focus on her sealife artwork. Here are some 2nd grade in-progress pattern fish made out of model magic….
