Now that big projects are coming to an end, I have been throwing some fun seasonal drawing challenges into the mix as everyone finishes up things up. 3rd through 5th grade had a Pinocchio drawing challenge—he’s Italian! It goes right along with our Italy unit. The 5th graders that were done with Pinocchio got to move on to making a spooky houses. They drew their spooky house and background in sharpie, then used regular markers to color in everything. Once finished coloring, we sprayed it with water so the water would diffuse the colors to make some really cool designs!
The lower grades are making Frank or Frankie Frankensteins and using texture to color them in. Using texture plates are always a big hit in the art room!
