The 4th graders are working on making wooden animal sculptures inspired by art from the Oaxaca region in Mexico. To start, students sketched animal designs before getting their wood pieces to turn their drawings into sculptures. In the next class, students used bright neon colors to paint the base colors of their animals. Next week, they will be using sharpie and darker paint colors to draw and paint the patterns and details onto their sculptures. We are off to a great start so far!
