After trimming down the 1st grade art projects, I had a whole slew of fabulous scraps that I couldn’t bring myself to grow out. I started gluing down the scraps in different patterns, and a new HILL VIEW sign was created! I love it!!!
This book is a great way to introduce the dos and don’ts of marker usuage in the art room to kindergarteners. It’s funny and definitely shows off what NOT to do with those smelly markers (Mr. Sketch) and permanent markers (Sharpies). The Tumble Books video on YouTube is very entertaining!
The 5th graders had a blast making their emoji soft sculptures!! I loved this project, and I had some students even show me some techniques for sewing which is so great! We kissed felt and embroidery thread for this project.
These agamographs sum up the art room’s theme for the year perfectly! The optical illusion created when walking past them in the hallways is so cool!
The 1st graders looked at cave art and how cave people would leave their handprints on the cave walls–very cool! We did our own version with a bit of a Warhol spin and mounted on a background showing off some implied texture (vocab!) using printmaking ink and brayers. Bright and bold!
